I already told her that nobody reads daddy blogs. Believe me. We’ve had that conversation.
Katie and I discussed what it might look like for us to set up a website to share what we wanted to share with the wide web world. But still, a few realities ended up just being … well, realities:
- I’m a guy. A man. A dad. A male. A dude.
- Katie and I both feel like we have something valuable to share with others on the topics of parenting, ADHD, improving home life, and the like.
- Those topics are exclusively managed and strictly licensed on the interwebs under the authority of the “Mommy blogging” domain. Don’t believe me? Go look. [I’ll wait].
{There. See what I dun told ya?}
- The three realities above don’t coexist all that naturally.
So excuse me if I’m feeling a bit like a camel who walked into the butterfly convention.

We have five kids. Five very different kids. We love them all. They all have their own unique strengths and weaknesses. I’d swear, they came from a completely different set of parents if we hadn’t raised them ourselves.
To be clear, Katie and I are both going to contribute to this thing — so it’s not going to just be “daddy blog” — but dangit, you’re going to get a bit of “daddy blog” in the mix too. (We can’t have this place be completely filled with butterflies and flowers and cutsie-wootsie stuff.) Dad should be involved in raising the kids where that’s feasible — and not sitting in front of the TV after work or sleeping while his wife does all of the house work. We are a partnership in our marriage. We are a partnership in our family leadership. So yes, it’s a daddy-mommy-blog.
Here we go…
